So after watching the HIV/AIDS video last week I started thinking about the reverse transcriptase inhibitor, AZT, which prevents the transcriptase enzyme that HIV uses to create a DNA copy from its RNA.
During the pre-clinical testing, a sample was given AZT while another sample was given a placebo. This made me think about a certain 'Unfortunate Experiment.' This was the study undertaken by Herb Green between 1966 and 1984 whereby a group of women with cervical abnormalities were followed without definitive treatment, and without their consent.
